Milila — Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 July 2026

These are the rules for using Milila. They are written plainly on purpose. If something here is unclear, write to support@milila.app and ask — that is a better outcome for both of us than a misunderstanding.

By making an account or using Milila, you agree to what follows.

1. Who we are, and who you are

Milila is operated by Bonaventure Oke in Nigeria. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Milila; "you" means the person using it.

You must be at least 18 to hold an account. If you are using Milila on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to agree to these terms for it.

2. What Milila does

Milila includes Gifts, Events and MEIE. Gifts let people create meaningful things for other people. Events help people preserve and revisit meaningful shared experiences.

MEIE is Milila's emotional AI companion. It is here for emotional connection, life, relationships, meaningful moments, memories, reflection, encouragement and helping people stay grounded in everyday human experiences. MEIE is not a generic AI assistant, maths solver, productivity assistant or "ask anything" chatbot.

Milila lets you build a digital gift — a small, personal experience with your photographs, your words and your choices in it — and send it as a link to one person.

Milila is not a social network, we are not a backup service, and we are not a place to publish things to the world.

3. Your account

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us at support@milila.app if you think someone else has got into it.

Give us a real email address. It is how we reach you about your account, and it is the only way to recover access.

4. Your content stays yours

Everything you put into a gift — your photographs, your letter, your words — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it, and we will not use it to promote Milila, show it to anyone as an example, or train anything on it.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, process it into the formats a browser needs, and display it to the people you send the link to. That permission lasts as long as you keep the gift on Milila and ends when you delete it.

5. What you promise about what you upload

You confirm that you own what you upload, or have permission to use it.

Photographs of other people. You have their agreement, or you are their parent or guardian, or the relationship makes it plainly reasonable.

Audio. This one matters, so it is spelled out. You may only upload audio you actually have the rights to — your own recording, your own voice, your own music. You may not upload commercial music you bought a copy of; buying a song does not give you the right to publish it. Milila provides a library of licensed music for exactly this reason, and where the product offers a link or an embed to a streaming service, that link is the correct way to share a song.

Everything else. Text, images and files that are yours to use.

If a rights holder tells us that something on Milila infringes their rights, we will take it down. Repeated infringement will cost you your account.

6. What you may not do

Do not use Milila to harass, threaten, stalk, humiliate or deceive anyone. A gift is made for someone; it is not a delivery mechanism for something they did not want.

Do not upload anything sexual involving a minor, anything that promotes violence against a person or group, anything unlawful, or anything you know to be a lie about a real person.

Do not upload malware, try to break the security of the service, scrape it, use it to send bulk or commercial messages, guess at other people's gift links, or attempt to open a locked gift that was not sent to you.

Do not resell Milila or present it as your own product without our written agreement.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things, and we do not have to give notice first if someone is being harmed.

7. Gifts, links and codes

The link is the key. An unlocked gift can be opened by anyone who has the link. Send it to the person you made it for, and treat the link as private.

A code is not recoverable. If you put a four-digit code on a gift, we store it in a form that cannot be read back. We cannot tell you what it is, and neither can anyone else. If you forget it, you can set a new one from the gift's own screen and tell the recipient the new clue. There is no other route.

The clue is part of the design. A code your recipient cannot work out is a locked door with no handle. Write a clue only the two of you can answer.

8. Free and paid

Some of Milila is free and some of it is paid. What sits on each side is shown in the product before you commit to anything, and we will not move a feature you already paid for behind a new charge on a gift you already published.

Prices are shown in the product in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Your bank may convert that into your own currency and may add its own fee, which is between you and them. Payment is taken by a third-party payment provider; we never see your card details.

Refunds. If something we sold you does not work, tell us and we will put it right or refund you. Because a gift is delivered the moment you publish it, we do not generally refund a published gift simply because you changed your mind — but we would rather hear from you than have you feel cheated, so ask.

Beta pricing. While Milila is in beta, prices may change. Any change applies to future purchases, never retrospectively.

9. Milila is in beta, and what that honestly means

The service is new. Things will break, features will change, and screens will look different from one week to the next.

Keep your own copies of your photographs. We take backups and we take care, but no early-stage service should be the only place a memory exists. If you would be devastated to lose it, do not let Milila be the only one holding it.

We do not promise that a gift will be available forever. We do promise that if we ever have to shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your content out before it goes.

10. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. That removes your profile, your drafts, your gifts and every file you uploaded, and it cannot be undone. Anyone holding a link to one of your gifts will find nothing there.

We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop operating the service. Except where you have broken the rules or the law, we will give you notice and a chance to take your content with you.

11. The service is provided as it is

We work hard on Milila, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, free of errors, or that it will meet every expectation you have of it. To the extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties that would otherwise apply.

12. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for what a service like ours should be responsible for, and we do not try to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

Beyond that, to the extent the law permits: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or opportunities, or for the loss of content where you had a reasonable opportunity to keep your own copy. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100.

Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

13. If something goes wrong between us

Please write to support@milila.app first. Most things are a misunderstanding and are fixed in one message.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, which it may.

14. The usual small print

If a court decides one part of these terms cannot stand, the rest still applies.

If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours if Milila is sold or reorganised, and we will tell you if that happens.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.

15. Changes

We will update these terms as Milila grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and for anything significant we will email you rather than hoping you notice. If you keep using Milila after a change, that is your acceptance of it. If you do not accept it, you can close your account and take your content.
